Episode 10: Is your kid coming on our date?

One recent morning, I awoke to a new message. Let's calls him "Are You Flipping Insane???" or AYFI for short.

First, his message invites me to check out his profile and see if I'm interested. Cool. But wait, what is this? A second message? That one says he knows he said he's looking for a woman with a baby but that's not a deal breaker.  WTF??? Warning bells are flashing! I'm hearing sirens! Time to check out this profile and see the level of crazy.

Profile highlights:

1. He was married for 14 years, his wife left him and the kid.

Sad.

2. He's filed for divorce.

That means you're still married, buddy!

3. He's looking for a woman with a baby to take care of him and his kid.

Um....wha? You want someone with a baby? Because why? I mean, that sounds creepy as hell, right???

4. Interests include all kinds of kid stuff and he signs the profile from him and his son.

So I'd be mom to 2 kids, not 1. Awesome.

Look, AYFI, your profile is just plain weird. I try not to be super judgmental about a person's education and job but when you're rolling with a high school diploma and a job that is manual labor, you may want to avoid messaging professional women asking if they have a baby and if she'll please be your mommy. And of course, that doesn't even begin to explain how much of a HUGE idiot father you are for putting your child's name and face on a dating site. Why do I have a feeling your son knows you're looking for his new mommy and he's involved with the interview process. Good job giving therapists a few more decades of work.
